Yesterday evening the Board assembled for their first official meeting since the AGM held last week.
The purpose of the meeting was to outline the roles and responsibilities going forward. During the meeting it was decided that Kevin White will become Chairman and newly appointed board member Colin Stoker will take up the role of Vice Chairman.
Other roles that were organised included:
Liz Lockie Treasurer.
Katie Oliver Football Secretary.
Martin French Club Secretary.
Previously co-opted member Paul Elliott has made the decision to step down from his position and we’d like to thank him for his work, effort and enthusiasm. Paul worked hard to drive the commercial side of the club and has created a great foundation to build our relationships with partners in the town.
Vice Chair, Colin Stoker said ‘I am honoured to have been elected as the Community Club’s Vice-Chairman at last nights board meeting. I will do everything in my power to support the Chairman and the newly elected board in what is undoubtedly a challenging but exciting time ahead of us.”
Kevin White who was elected by our members to the board last year, takes up the reigns in an official capacity having previously been ‘Acting Chair’ since Terry Brown’s departure.
‘It was a really positive meeting’ Kevin White noted ‘Our members have pieced together a great team. The spread in age range, personalities, skill-sets and interests will ensure that we can continue to push this club forward from all angles. Yet as yesterday evening’s meeting demonstrated, the one thing that unites us all is the passion and future wellbeing of this great club.’
‘On a personal level it’s a really proud moment. To be elected last year and then to receive the support of the board in having my name put forward to be chairman was special. There are, of course, challenges that lay ahead of us – but I’ve every faith in this team and club in our ability to drive it forward.”
There will be further updates shortly including the clubs push to Save the Camrose and other developments. As a community run club, the board wants to once again encourage fans to become members and also consider how you may be able to involve yourself with our club. If you believe you have a way of helping, whether it’s on match days, in the media, with fundraising or any other role that you would benefit the club. Please, get in contact.
