Stoke attacked the railway end in the first-half and came close to taking the lead in the second minute as a cross from the left found Markus Johnson-Schuster at the far post, but he toed his shot over the bar from close range.
In the tenth minute, Brody Peart beat the wall from a free-kick, but his shot was easily held by the young Tiverton keeper.
Midway through the first-half, Tiverton with the first real attack of the game, opened the scoring and we went behind. Basingstoke 0-1 Tiverton
The blustery conditions were not helping either team, as passes went astray as we moved into the final ten minutes of the half.
There was little from Stoke, and Tiverton came close to adding a second, but the shot was blocked away.
With a couple of long injury delays, and in the fifth of seven added-minutes, Liam Ferdinand hit a shot that forced the Tiverton to make a full length diving save, and Tiverton were first to the rebound.
We went into the break behind once again.

Stoke made no changes at halftime and on fifty minutes, Simon Grant kept us in the game, as he made a fine save from close range.
Similar to the first-half there are already a number of delays because of injuries.
Despite Stoke having more possession, we made a double change with Brody Peart replaced by George Reid, and Robbie Gallagher replaced by Dan Warre (62 mins)
The change works as from a cross from the left, the ball rebounded to Dan Warre, who slotted the ball passed a crowd of players into the net GOAL! Basingstoke Town 1 – 1 Tiverton Town (Warre 66 mins)
Stoke continued to be the team that was looking for the second-goal, but Tiverton kept us at bay.
Tiverton won a couple of corners which we defended, but then a shot from 30 yards found the corner of the net. Basingstoke 1-2 Tiverton
Stoke made its third change as Jonny Efedje replaced Curtis Angell (88 mins).
The heavy rain returned as we entered eight minutes of added-time, but Stoke showed no signs of getting an equalizer and the game was put to bed as Tiverton added a third.
The referee put an end to another home defeat and third loss in a row.

Let’s just say that was not the best performance, admittedly not helped by the conditions. But Tiverton are a poor side, and to lose to them, just proves some real changes are needed.
We slip another place to ninth which could be worse by the time we play Havant next Saturday.
