Match Report: Cinderford – Basingstoke Town

The club travelled the 90+ miles to the tiny village of Cinderford, and as the players coach neared the ground, it was clear a heavy fog had fallen over the ground.
The referee initially delayed the kick-off till 3.15pm, then further announced a further pitch inspection at 3.30pm.
Once this pitch inspection failed the referee and or linesman’s requirements, the game was called off.
The game already in the middle of nowhere, will now be rearranged more than likely for a Tuesday evening.
A superb turnout by Stoke fans on the players coach and a few who drove to the game.
Lastly can I thank Cinderford Town fans and officials who could not be more helpful to us who were clearly expecting the game to go ahead.
Clean sheet for the Stoke, whilst relegation rivals Barnstaple Town took a beating at Slimbridge.
