Stoke lost it’s first friendly of the season as it hosted Southern League Division One South side Hamworthy Utd, on what was a hot and sunny day at Winklebury.
Both teams missed chances before Hamworthy took the lead mid-way through the first-half and it was the visitors who edged the first-half as the teams went into the halftime break.
The second-half saw Stoke create more chances, but United’s keeper was able to hold us at bay and it was the visitors who finished the winners by the solitary goal.
Up Next – We host Bracknell Town this Tuesday evening.
We saw a really good Hamworthy side who probably edged the game. Still no sign of James Clarke?
