Monday Morning Quarterback \u2013  Week 9 Upon Further Review<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let\u2019s go\nstraight to our latest loss against relegation rivals Chesham Utd at the\nCamrose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Firstly, that\nfortress Camrose that some fans talk about in the past, has now flown well and\ntruly out the window this season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Secondly, the\nfact that  our league record now looks\nlike a cardiac arrest sheet at the moment, does not tend to give us hope that\nthings will change anytime soon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thirdly, although\ncontinuing injuries to key players have affected our performances, to be perfectly\nhonest we have played poorly in recent games, we have lost that cutting edge in\nfront of goal. Yes we score goals, but miss a huge amount of opportunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fourthly, we\nstill look wide open at the back, and unless we stop teams from putting the\nball deep into our box, we will simply continue to struggle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Without\nreinforcements at the back, sorry the right reinforcements at the back, then we\nwill likely remain in this relegation dogfight until the end of April.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Martin Kuhl now fully in charge of the squad, has a tough\njob in front of him and think we need to fully support him over the last half\nof the season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Well with us dropping to 20th<\/sup> in the league,\nlet\u2019s take a look around what happened on Saturday. League Leaders Taunton Town\nwere due to play 3rd<\/sup> place Salisbury in the match-up of the day,\nhowever with Salisbury still in the FA Trophy the match was postponed.\nSalisbury however came unstuck as they lost on the road 4-1 to Carshalton\nCasuals. 2nd<\/sup> placed Weymouth were also in the FA trophy but fared\nbetter as they travelled up north to Lancashire to a small suburb of Greater\nManchester to play Ramsbottom Utd. Weymouth led 1-2 but the home team pulled\nout a last gasp equaliser to earn a replay at Bob Lucas Stadium this Tuesday. I\nwill update you on that result on Wednesday evening, however if expected that\nWeymouth progresses, then our League match at Weymouth on Saturday 2nd<\/sup>\nFebruary could well be postponed as the next round of the FA Trophy falls on\nthat day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ok with these 3 teams idle in the league this allowed 5th<\/sup>\nplaced Met Police to jump up into 2nd<\/sup> place after they were the\nlatest team to beat Hendon FC, as they won convincingly at home 3-0 with more\ngoals by their front three Jack Mazzone, Max Blackmore & Jonathan\nHippolyte.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the last promotion playoff spot is Harrow Borough who\nslipped to their 2nd<\/sup> consecutive defeat this time 4-1 at Beaconsfield\nTown. Two goals by Marvin Morgan and goals from Bajram Pashaj and Reece Yorke\nwere more than enough to deal with the Boro. This also pushed Beaconsfield Town\nupto 6th<\/sup> place with 5pts separating them from a playoff place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So to the bottom of the table, where we sit 20th<\/sup>.\n Staines Town, remain firmly at the\nbottom as they lost again, this time on the road 3-0 at Swindon Supermarine. The\nMarine have proved that you can go on a run and move up the league, as they now\nsit in 9th<\/sup> place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Frome Town sitting in 21st<\/sup> place were also\nanother team who were idle this weekend as they were due to play Dorchester\nTown, but the Magpies were the 3rd<\/sup> team to play in the FA Trophy.\nThe Magpies lost on the road 2-1 at Barnet. Benjamin Seymour were the Town\u2019s\ngoal-scorer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So sitting above Stoke are Gosport Borough, who were also\nidle this weekend. In 18th<\/sup> sit our victors Saturday Chesham Utd.\nBoth Chesham & Gosport have just 1pt more than us (29pts), with Stoke\nhaving games in hand on both of them. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

On 30pts are both Dorchester Town & Wimborne Town.\nWimborne destroyed our next Saturday opponents Merthyr Town 4-0 at the\nCuthbury. A hat-trick by Tobias Holmes, before Luke Homes added the 4th<\/sup>\nsecured a comfortable win.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On 31pts are three teams, Walton Casuals, Hendon FC and\nTiverton Town. Walton Casuals lost 1-2 at home to Hartley Wintney, whilst\nHendon FC as stated earlier lost at Met Police, whilst Tiverton lost at home to\nthe improving Poole Town.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
