The result confirmed Bracknell’s well managed side and the ongoing confirmation of League Champions within the month of March.

The fact that Bracknell did not need to resort to their usual gamesmanship to kill time, is confirmation our Stoke side, although competitive created very few chances or attempts on goal. Basingstoke now sitting in sixth as of today, have another tough match upcoming as we travel to playoff hopefuls Uxbridge this Saturday.

Second-placed Chertsey Town took another important step in securing their playoff advance as they delivered fellow playoff hopefuls Marlow a heavy blow as they left Oak Tree Road, with a comfortable three-nil victory. An early goal by Magnus Abisogun, was doubled just before the break by Andrew Crossley, and it was Crossley who added a third just before the hour.

Marlow now sit in seventh, and although with one or two games in hand of the teams above, need those teams to drop points if they are to get back in the five playoff places.

In third-place, two points behind Chertsey, sit Hanwell Town who visited relegation-bound Chalfont St Peter, and were looking like they were going to drop two points, before a very late substitution brought forward Tomasz Siemienczuk into the game and he responded with a ninetieth minute winner. Hanwell had taken a bizarre first-half lead as from a free-kick ten yards in his own half, goalkeeper Hugo Sobte, ssucceeded in putting the ball over McCorkell’s head and into the goal. Chalfont had equalised just before the break.

In fourth spot sit Uxbridge who played their fourth game in a row on the road, this time at Chipstead. Uxbridge took the lead midway through the first-half via Mahlondo Martin, before the homeside pulled level just before the break through Andy Kabuikusomo’s finish. Despite chances for both teams in the second-half the game ended at a one-one stalemate.

Bedfont Sports who were in sixth prior o Saturday’s game but were held in a goal-less game at Northwood, despite the Wood going down to ten men when Keegan Cole was given his marching orders with just over twenty minutes remaining. The point however allowed Sports to take fifth place on goal difference over Basingstoke.

This leaves the playoff picture looking like this

1

Bracknell Town

27

24

1

2

66

10

+56

73

2

Chertsey Town

27

16

7

4

53

32

+21

55

3

Hanwell Town

26

16

5

5

64

26

+38

53

4

Uxbridge

26

15

7

4

49

29

+20

52

5

Bedfont Sports

26

15

6

5

56

32

+24

51

6

Basingstoke Town

26

15

6

5

50

36

+14

51

7

Marlow

25

14

5

6

40

24

+16

47

The gap between the top seven and the rest of the league continues to grow, as Binfield sit in eighth, now twelfth points behind Marlow after a one-one draw at home to relegation fighters Sutton Common Rovers.

Bottom-placed Staines Town picked up a valuable point in a goal-less encounter at tenth-placed South park.

Ashford Town left Tooting & Mitcham Utd with all three points when Kain Adams scored the only goal of the game just before halftime.
