They currently sit in 21stt place in the league with a record of Pld 10 Won 1 Drawn 2 Lost 7 GF 12 GA 22 and 5pts. Their sole victory was a 1-0 home defeat of Frome Town, back in August. Their goal-scoring, continues to start and finish with long-serving, Ryan Seager, who has six goals on the season. Seager, came through the set-up at Southampton until 2019. He had loans spells at Crewe Alexandra, then MK Dons in League One, plus spells at Yeovil Town, Dutch side SC Telstar, Hungerford & Dorking Wanderers, before returning to Havant at the end of 2023. Striker Ethan Giwa-McNeil, (one goal), is back for another season, having previously been with Enfield Town, and also spent a short period playing in the USA. Leon Maloney, is back for another season, having been a Portsmouth academy attacking winger, who joined from AFC Totton. Dylan Rees is a 16-year-old winger, on dual-Registration terms with AFC Portchester.

The midfield contains Alfie Whittingham, back for another season, and who previously made over 80 appearances for Aldershot over three seasons, before coming back to Havant. Midfielder Faris Khallouqi joined the Hawks following his departure from Moneyfields, and has played for a number of other step 3 clubs in recent loan spells. The midfield contains Andy Robinson, back for another stint at Westleigh Park, after having been at Gosport, Weymouth & Dorchester Town. Blaise Riley-Snow joined the Hawks in May, having previously played for Scottish clubs Alloa Athletic and Raith Rovers, as well as a number of other clubs, but more recently at Sholing. Yesterday the club re-signed well-travelled Bradley Tarbuck. Now 30, he was at Portsmouth’s youth system, making his League debut for Portsmouth in 2014 as a substitute in a 3-0 victory over Carlisle United. After loan spells at Dartford and Dorchester Town in 2015, before joining the Hawks for a four-year spell, during their back-to-back promotions to get to the National League. He then spent six season at Gosport Borough, then last season at Poole Town.

The defence contains ex-Stokie Charlie Kennedy, who joined in May 2026, and has a wealth of experience with numerous clubs in our league. Imran Uche, is a versatile defender who brings a strong level of experience, and helped Farnham Town win promotion last season. He has also played for the likes of Hampton & Richmond, Eastbourne Borough and Aveley at Step 2. At right-back it is likely to be on-loan Michael Ani from Portsmouth’s academy. Gabe Cuthbert, joined the Hawks in July, after coming through QPR’s Youth and Academy, and had loans spells at with Northwood and Uxbridge. In goal will be Matt Kerbey, who re-signed for the Hawks for the 26-27 season, having been picked-up towards the end of last season from Carshalton Athletic. Has previously spent time at Sutton Utd, and loan spells at Chipstead, Hendon and Dartford.

Our Basingstoke Town Side
Despite yet another slow start, where better finishing by the visitors, could have seen us trailing, we then got that scrambled goal just before the break, then saw us push forward in the second-half, as we got back to winning ways, as Malvern’s defence proved as ineffective as their offense.

Our win leaves us in 14th place as we head to Havant tonight, with our league record now at, Pld 10 Won 3 Drawn 3 Lost 4 GF 18 GA 17 and 12pts. Our away record sits at 1 win, 1 draw and 3 losses. With a number of changes and additions to the strikeforce, we found the net four times, last Saturday, and will thus assume a similar set-up will see Cheick Sylla, who claimed our first goal against Malvern and his first goal of the season, alongwith Jeremiah Okine-Peters, who also found the net and now has five goals on the season. Add the two loanees, Chinedu Agu & Larry Omoregie, who made good debuts Saturday, and then Christos Papkonstantinou, who got out late fourth goal, and the possibility of more goals, something we have been massively lacking, could hopefully be in the past. Finn Evans is also a possible returnee to this area, once fit.

Louis McGrory was sidelined from Saturday’s game, but could hopefully be an option for tonight’s squad. If not Tom Blake will continue to be partnered with James Henry, Amardeep Singh, as well as Scott Armsworth, who was a surprised scorer Saturday. Anthony Manochhio is also an option, who did well when he came on in the second-half Saturday. Alex Solomon, who missed Saturday, could also get a recall. It is believed D’Andre Brown missed Saturday due to injury.

Firstly, with a number of players returning to this area, Casey Bocarro, and sad to see him go, saw the writing on the wall, and moved to league rivals Bracknell Town. This also leaves a number of other options in the centre of defence, as Billy Upton, could be partnered by either Jack Ball, or the current incumbent Bernie Tanner. Lewis Colwill will continue in his right-back role, whilst it is assumed Joe O’Loughlin will once more start in his left-back role. Jonathan Gjoshe was absent from Saturday’s squad but could be an option off the bench. There is also Sulayman Ceesay, and what happens to him. Simon Grant who had little chance with Malvern’s only goal, played well otherwise, and will don the goalkeepers jersey tonight.

What is clear, is that we need to push on from Saturday’s win, but our record at Westleigh Park in recent years, is not the best and will now likely be slightly harder, as the Hawks, look to get a win under their new management.

The weather is due to be mild and dry for tonight’s game, so why not take a trip down the A3 and get behind Dan and the players.

Let’s Go Stoke !

Match Preview by Martin French..

Match Preview: Southern League Premier Division South Havant & Waterlooville vs Basingstoke Town When: Tuesday 13th October 2026 Kick-off 7.45pm Westleigh Park, Martin Road, Havant, Hampshire PO9 5TH Havant & Waterlooville (Hawks), 2026-27 League Position 21st Having beaten the bottom-placed side (Malvern) Saturday, tonight we face the team one slot above them, Havant & Waterlooville, […]

"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paywalled_content":false,"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false

95,107,2

post-9175","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-2023-24-news","category-2025-26-match-preview","category-featured
["GET
