Stoke took on local side Whitchurch Utd who hosted a number of Stoke academy players at Winklebury yesterday evening.
After a number of early chances it took an unfortunate own-goal by well-liked Joel Halliday to give us the lead. Minutes later an acute finish by Toure (No.9), doubled the lead before Bradley Wilson added a third in between a number of impressive saves by Halliday.
Stoke made a number of halftime changes and it was one of those George Reid who added two more goals, either side of a Whitchurch goal. A number of saves by the visitors replacement keeper kept the score to just five.
Final Score: Basingstoke Town 5 – 1 Whitchurch Utd
