Manager Dan Brownlie has added to his squad by signing Flackwell Heath’s central defender Josh Edwards. Josh is a powerful & quick centre half who will join the squad for their two training sessions this week and will go into the squad to face Barnstaple at the weekend.
Dan Brownlie said on the signing:
‘We’ve been long term admirers of Josh. He’s a real battler and someone we believe will add a sturdiness to our defensive line. Along with the imminent return of Scott Armsworth; this will be a huge boost to the squad in an area we greatly need to improve.’
‘Despite recent results, Aaron Watkins has already proved to be a great signing and we’ve no doubt Josh will add strength to our central core.’
Josh Edwards spoke about joining the club:
‘I’m looking forward to the challenge ahead, can’t wait to get started Saturday. Really pleased to be joining Basingstoke; a huge club in non league. Can’t wait to get started and help the club climb the table.’
