In Stoke’s opening friendly of the season, many of last season’s squad and a number of triallists beat Wembley Fc with goals in each half.
It was trialist defender Billy Upton who opened the scoring putting away a close range shot that had rebounded off the keeper.
A number of changes at halftime, including the returns of Ashleigh Artwell & Sam Argent, saw Stoke double their lead late-on as Argent received the ball on the edge of the penalty area, before assuredly slotting the ball into the far corner of the net.
Up next is our rearranged friendly against Fleet Town now at Winklebury this Friday night (KO 7.45pm).
Apart from a couple of moments, think we were never troubled. Wembley first half keeper looked good.
