With the country starting to come out of the lockdown, what does this mean for our level of football? With shops allowed to open next Monday (except for pubs and restaurants of course), what does this mean for our level of football. Still honestly not sure why having some food and a beer, has to be wait an extra three weeks to open, especially as the public have been ignoring social distancing in the past few weeks anyway!
It is now the 10th June 2020, our league was and is still currently set for a league return of August 15th. That is still over ten weeks away, which is really plenty of time, to get training started, players signed and with no play-offs, relegation and promotion to complete, the Southern League, just needs to set the fixtures. It could be really lazy like it was back in March, in cancelling all football at our levels and expunging the season and the results, and just state last years fixture dates, will be the same for this season!
This would mean us hosting a home fixture (at Winchester City of course), against last season relegation rivals Barnstaple Town.
Would you be happy to play exactly the same fixtures as last season?
Sorry, just cannot see football starting back in August unless it is behind closed doors.
