Latest Friendly – Binfields 4 – 1 Basingstoke Town Tuesday 30th July 2019

Our latest friendly saw Stoke travelling to Berkshire to take step 5 side Binfields Fc.

Stoke still missing a number of key players started well and could have taken an early lead, but it was the home side who took the lead after a well taken finish.

However, Stoke got back on level terms shortly afterwards with a finish by Jourdan Edwards. However, it was not long as a free-kick left a wide open Binfield player as he placed his header past yet another trialist keeper. A third was added just before halftime as the home team slotted home a stone-wall penalty.

The second-half again saw us come at the home team looking for an equaliser, but to be honest we were second best on the pitch all night and it was not long before we went further behind.

Down 4-1 we mounted a couple of chance and both Wright and Rusher should have got on the teamsheet. The second triallist keeper of the night made one or two decent saves to keep the score down, but with a backline wide open most of the evening, the final score could have been far worse.

Final Score: Binfields 4 – 1 Basingstoke Town
