Well following our cup exit to Hartley Wintney on Tuesday night, we return to the more important league situation as we host fellow relegation strugglers Chesham Utd.

Strugglers? After starting the season disastrously, they are now the inform team in the league, with 5 wins, 2 draws and just one loss in the last 8 games.
Chesham currently still however sit in 20th place, with a record of Played 23 Won 7 Drawn 5 and Lost 11 with 26pts. However, despite all their good recent performances they still have a -19 goal difference and are the lowest in goals scored with just 22 in the league.
With just 22 goals scored, their leading goalscorer is Non-League journeyman Jefferson Louis with just 5 goals, and then midfielder Bradley Clayton with 4 goals.
Basingstoke now sit in 18th place, two places and two points above our opponents Chesham, but have with a massively better goal difference of just -4.
Martin Kuhl, will have some injuries concerns as forward Ben Wright has missed most of the last 6 games, whilst Sam Argent and Charlie Kennedy both missed Tuesday night’s cup match against Hartley Wintney. Ass the fact that the returning Aaron Redford hobbled off on Tuesday, means we have some serious injury worries.
I assume Harry Pearse was rested to prepare for this weekend’s game. Dean Stow came on second half and played in his more attacking role of right-sided midfield and linked-up well with Sam Smart who was back to his best and was able to win another penalty.
The fact we can’t find a penalty-taker to hit the back of the net is getting bad.

Then last night It was announced that Colm McAdden had left the club, and as of the time I am writing this article, there is no confirmed replacement.
Martin Kuhl is clearly trying to find a squad that he sees will keep us up, and It’s clear further signings and departures are likely.
